Oldham right-back Kieran Lee has signed a new 12-month contract with the club.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Latics on a free from Manchester United in 2008, will now remain at Boundary Park until the end of the 2011/12 season.

Lee has been a regular in Athletic defence this season featuring 17 times, scoring twice to bring his total appearances for Oldham to 55 and his goal tally to three.

Meanwhile, a virus has swept through Boundary Park this week.

However, manager Paul Dickov does not expect it to rule any of his players out of action as the Latics bid to bounce back from last weekend's 5-0 defeat to Peterborough when they travel to Bournemouth.

Dickov said: "We have already proved this season we are capable to going on an unbeaten run and we need to do that again."
