Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp says Aaron Lennon should recover from illness in time to play against Real Madrid.

The England international was withdrawn before kick-off in the Bernabeu due to the illness and missed Saturday's visit of Stoke City.

But Redknapp says his mazy winger should recover in time to face Jose Mourinho's side.

“Aaron was not well again on Friday. He was not well enough to play against Stoke. He did some work on Friday with the fitness coach and then joined in with a little game but he did not feel well enough.

“Of course I care about him, I think he will be fit enough to play on Wednesday."

Lennon's return will come a huge boost to Redknapp and his side, who after being without the 23-year-old last week, now have to overturn a four-goal deficit at White Hart Lane if they want to take their place in the semi-finals.
