Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie has backed his teammates to win all of their seven remaining Barclays Premier League fixtures and clinch the title from under the noses of rivals Manchester United.
The flying Dutchman, who scored his 20th league goal from his last 21 starts in yesterday's 1-3 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, also hailed Arsenal's 'never-say-die' attitude as they ended a run of five games without a win.
"I believe we have turned the corner. We have seven games to play and it’s up to us now," said Van Persie.
"Our aim is to win all seven because we have it in ourselves, we just have to prove it now. We are a great team and it's up to us.
"We needed this. In the last couple of weeks we didn’t win so we are very pleased."
The victory moves the Gunners to within seven points of leaders Manchester United, and with a game in hand over Sir Alex Ferguson's side as well as a May 1 showdown to look forward to, Arsenal's title-hopes are still very much alive.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger promised fans that his side would never give up on their title dream, saying:
"We promise to give everything for the rest of the season. Seven games is a long time in football!"
