Scott: Millers job was my target

New Rotherham manager Andy Scott made getting the job his number one target as soon as it became available.

The 38-year-old former Brentford manager became Ronnie Moore's permanent successor at Don Valley after signing a three-year deal on Wednesday. And as soon as Moore left his position in mid-March, Scott was determined to get the role.

"When Ronnie left, with my contacts and the fact my brother Rob played for Rotherham for a long time and still lives up here, I asked about the players and facilities," he said.

"The more research I did on it, I realised this club has got the ambition that matches my own,"

"It was football club that I wanted to come to and make my mark on it.

"Once the job came up then my main focus was to speak to the chairman and let him know I was interested. I made it very clear this was my number one target."
