Colchester will be without Steven Gillespie for the Easter Monday visit of champions Brighton.

The striker sustained a fractured arm when he landed awkwardly during Good Friday`s 1-1 draw at Brentford and went to hospital and is unlikely to play again this term.

"It looks like he might have to have an operation on it," boss John Ward said.

Kayode Odejayi came on for Gillespie at Griffin Park and looks set to earn a starting berth.

Centre-halves Magnus Okuonghae (ankle) and Pat Baldwin (Achilles) remain long-term absentees while winger Simon Hackney has returned to the Community Stadium from his loan spell at League Two Oxford for treatment on a hamstring strain.

The Us have nothing but pride to play for as they head into the final throes of the campaign sitting in a comfortable mid-table position.

Brighton striker Glenn Murray looks set to miss out after suffering a shoulder injury on Saturday.

The Seagulls` top scorer had to be substituted after 50 minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Southampton - Brighton`s first loss at home all season.

Manager Gus Poyet said: "We missed him because of the balls that came into the box. It looks like it is his shoulder but we don't know the full extent just yet."

Chris Wood replaced Murray against Saints and will hope to start against the Us in the 12.15pm kick-off.

Central defender Gordon Greer serves the final game of the four-match ban he was given for his second red card of the season against Sheffield Wednesday.
