Oldham boss Paul Dickov has expressed his desire to sign on-loan Sunderland defender Jean-Yves M'voto on a permanent basis.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has spent the season on loan at Boundary Park and made 29 first-team appearances.
Dickov said: "There might be more attractive offers financially elsewhere, but I have told Jean the most important thing is for him to be playing football next season."
He added: "We will look after Jean and get the best out of him. The pleasing thing is that there are positive signs from both him and his agent."
M'voto said: "Of course I am interested. Me and my agent are open to offers. We will have to wait and see what happens in May and June because I think we will be talking."
