With Aston Villa's status in the Barclays Premier League secured for another season, Ashley Young is focused on achieving a personal milestone.

The 25-year-old's perfectly placed free-kick against Wigan on Saturday saved a point for Villa, and took Young to nine goals for his club this campaign.

Young also has a goal for England to his name this year, but he is desperate to reach double figures for Villa before the culmination of the campaign in under two week's time.

"I'd be delighted to get into double figures - we've got two games left so fingers crossed I can do that," he told the official Aston Villa website.

"I had an opportunity to score from the free-kick and I asked Stan to touch it.

"I don't think the wall was anywhere near 10 yards back but I think that might have worked in my favour.

"As soon as I touched it I knew which way it was going to go and luckily for me it has gone in and I think that set on the road to get back in to the game and getting another goal which obviously didn't come.

"We are disappointed it didn't come but we got a point which is vitally important."
