Manchester United are on the brink of winning a record 19th league title after a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils now need just one point from their remaining two fixtures - against Blackburn and Blackpool - to wrap up the Barclays Premier League crown.
United stunned Chelsea as Javier Hernandez scored after 36 seconds. Nemanja Vidic added a second before half-time, while Frank Lampard pulled a goal back, but the damage had already been done.
Chelsea aren't yet mathematically out of the equation, but Carlo Ancelotti has conceded that the reigning champions will lose their title to United.
Elsewhere, Arsenal were beaten 3-1 by Stoke at the Britannia Stadium, with goals from Kenwyne Jones, Jermaine Pennant and Jon Walters inflicting a humbling defeat.
Manchester City lost 2-1 at Everton on Saturday to further extend their poor run against the Toffees. Yaya Toure had given the visitors the lead at Goodison Park, before Sylvain Distin levelled the scores and Leon Osman secured victory with a stunning header.
Tottenham failed to take advantage of City's defeat as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Blackpool at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, Wolves climbed out of the drop zone with a resounding 3-1 win over local rivals West Brom, while Aston Villa were drew with relegation threatened Wigan.
Also on Saturday, Newcastle beat Birmingham thanks to goals from Shola Ameobi and Steven Taylor, while Sunderland beat Bolton at the Reebok Stadium and West Ham remained at the foot of the table after drawing with Blackburn.
Tonight, Liverpool face Fulham at Craven Cottage with the former having the chance to regain fifth spot in the fight for European qualification.
Finally, Queen's Park Rangers will join the Barclays Premier League next season, AC Milan secured domestic glory and Barcelona close in on La Liga.
