Manchester United's search for a goalkeeper has seen them agree a deal with Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea, according to Gerry Armstrong.

Armstrong made 55 appearances for Real Mallorca between 1983-85 and now works as a pundit out in Spain for Sky Sports.

And the Northern Irishman has revealed that De Gea will move to Old Trafford in the near future.

"Six or seven weeks ago Man United agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid. Everything is all in place, they’re just waiting for him to sign.

“But he has a question mark about the move. He’s a young goalie, only 20, and he’s wondering whether or not he wants to come to England now, or whether he should wait. In the next two or three weeks it will all happen.”

The news will come as a huge boost to United fans, who were worried that the club wouldn't be able to adequately replace the retiring Edwin Van Der Sar after the problems replacing Peter Schmeichel.
