Scunthorpe midfielder Mark Duffy sees no reason why the club cannot make an immediate return to the npower Championship following their relegation.

The Iron ended the campaign bottom of the table and with the worst goal difference in the division by some distance. They will now look to rebuild under Alan Knill and Duffy, who arrived in January from Morecambe, is confident of a bright future at Glanford Park.

He said: "The target for this team is to bounce straight back up, or at least be in with a chance with the play-offs."

He added: "The gaffer has come in and been unbelievable, he's got us playing a style of football that everyone at the club enjoys and I think the fans have enjoyed our performances recently too.

"I think under the gaffer we'll be successful in the future."

Knill won just two of his eight games in charge of the Lincolnshire club this season.
