Mick McCarthy tasted Barclays Premier League victory at the Stadium of Light for the first time as Wolves gave their survival hopes a massive boost at Sunderland following a 3-1 win.
Second-half goals from Steven Fletcher and George Elokobi sealed a second successive league win for McCarthy, whose 19 top-flight home games as Black Cats boss did not yield a single three-point haul.
Sunderland old boy Jody Craddock had given the visitors a 23rd-minute lead which was cancelled out by Stephane Sessegnon 11 minutes before the break.
