Celtic finished their Clydesdale Bank Premier League campaign with a comfortable 4-0 home win over Motherwell but lost out by a point to Old Firm rivals Rangers in the title race.

Goals by Gary Hooper and Georgios Samaras had the game tied up by the interval but an emphatic Light Blues victory at Kilmarnock made it academic.

Celtic substitutes Shaun Maloney, on at the break for Emilio Izaguirre, and Paddy McCourt, on for James Forrest, grabbed further goals but it was not enough to prevent the Hoops finishing second to Rangers for the third successive season.
