Blackburn midfielder Brett Emerton, who scored one of the goals in his side's 3-2 win at Wolves at the weekend which kept the Ewood Park club in the Barclays Premier League, has been named in the Australia squad for two upcoming friendlies.

Emerton is joined in the squad for the games against New Zealand and Serbia by Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Neill despite missing the closing part of the Turkish season with a groin injury.

Coach Holger Osieck has left out the injured Tim Cahill, Harry Kewell, David Carney and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.

Reading's Adam Federici will vie with Mitchell Langerak and Nathan Coe to take Schwarzer's place.

Australia will play New Zealand in Adelaide on June 5 and Serbia in Melbourne on June 7.
