Manchester City - John Sheridan wins LMA award

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan has been named the League Managers` Association Manager of the Year for npower League Two.

The award was voted for by his fellow managers, recognising the impressive feat of leading the Spireites to promotion as champions this season.

Sheridan was presented with the accolade at the LMA`s 19th annual awards dinner at The Hilton, Park Lane, London on Monday night.

 

He said: "To receive such an award at the end of the season recognises that we have achieved our ultimate goal.

"I am so proud of all my players for what we have achieved together."

The former Sheffield Wednesday player joined Chesterfield in 2009 after a three-year spell in charge of League One Oldham.
