Barnsley have agreed the signing of striker Craig Davies from Chesterfield.

The 25-year-old Wales international will put pen to paper on a two-year deal when his current contract expires on July 1.

"I'm excited at the prospect of working with Craig and helping develop him to reach his full potential," said Tykes manager Keith Hill.

"He's got experience for his age, he's hungry for success and he'll be a great acquisition for us."

Davies, whose previous clubs include Oxford, Oldham, Brighton and Italian side Hellas Verona, hit 25 goals as Chesterfield secured the League Two title last season.

He is Hill's second signing since taking over at Oakwell after Colchester midfielder David Perkins agreed a switch on Tuesday.
