Michael Chopra is enthusiastic about a move to Ipswich although a deal is yet to be finalised, according to the Cardiff striker's agent.

The Bluebirds are reported to have settled on a fee in the region of £1.5million for the 27-year-old, with Chopra holding talks at Portman Road over personal terms.

Town's interest in the former Newcastle and Sunderland marksman has been well known for some time, with former Tractor Boys boss Roy Keane first trying to land his services prior to current manager Paul Jewell. Chopra's agent Kenny Moyes told the Western Mail: "Michael is keen to join Ipswich."

He added: "Nothing has been finally agreed. It is still a bit premature, but the two clubs have been talking and Michael is keen to join Ipswich."
