Dale choose Eyre

Former Manchester City youth-team coach Steve Eyre has been appointed as the new manager at npower League One Rochdale.

Eyre replaces Keith Hill, who left Spotland to take over at Championship Barnsley, and will be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

During his time at Eastlands Eyre helped guide City's youngsters to five league titles and two FA Youth Cup finals.
