Teenage defender Nathan Cameron has signed a new two-year deal that will keep him at Coventry until June 2013.

The 19-year-old, who made his first-team debut in the Carling Cup against Hartlepool after progressing through the club's academy in 2009, featured in 26 games for the Sky Blues last season.

Manager Andy Thorn said: "We're developing a strong base of homegrown talent here and that's really positive for Coventry City."

He added: "Nathan was one of the surprises of last season.

"Very few people expected him to start the first game of the season, himself included, but he took the opportunity with both hands and became a vital member of the squad."
