Foxes stopper looks to the future – not the past

New Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel says he harbours ‘no bad feelings’ towards Leeds, despite receiving criticism from some quarters after his departure from Elland Road.

Quotes attributed to Leeds boss Simon Grayson and chairman Ken Bates have hardly been flattering towards the 24-year-old, but Schmeichel, for his part, was gracious after leaving Yorkshire.

"There is no animosity on my part. I enjoyed my time there and wish them all the best for the future," said the Danish gloveman. "I have no bad feelings towards Leeds.

"The fans were amazing and I hope, for their sake especially, that they get what they deserve."

A move to the Walkers Stadium represented a opportunity for Schmeichel to link-up once more with Sven-Goran Eriksson, with whom he worked with at Manchester City and Notts County.

And Schmeichel can't wait to get going again under Eriksson, this time with Leicester.

He added: "Sven is a great manager, and I love working for him. He creates a great environment."
