Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell insists he will add to his squad further before the beginning of the season, especially following the £8m sale of Connor Wickham to Sunderland.

The likes of Nathan Ellington, Michael Chopra, Aaron Cresswell and Ivar Ingimarsson have already joined the ranks at Portman Road.

But after Jewell was promised that the funds from the sale of Wickham would be available to help bolster the squad, the boss had confirmed there will be more new additions.

"I'm happy with what we've done so far, the players we have brought in and there are more to come," he told the club's official website.

"It's been a hard summer, with lots of phone calls and travelling, but we're getting there.

"We've signed some really good players, but it's not all rosy in the garden, we want to bring more in.

"It's a case of getting the right players at the right price and the owner will always listen to what I have to say."
