Stuart Gray is set to replace Ian Woan as Portsmouth's new first-team coach.

The 51-year-old was previously at Burnley but left in May following a reorganisation of staff by manager Eddie Howe.

Gray, who has already taken charge of several training sessions at Eastleigh, is likely to be the only addition to the back room staff this season.

Pompey manager Steve Cotterill said: "I have known Stuart for a long, long time. He is a good organiser and a good coach.

"He left Burnley a couple of months ago and I am really pleased to have him on board.

"Stuart has been here a few days and fitted in very well. He's got a spring in his step and made a good impression."
