Lloyd Dyer stays loyal to Leicester

Sheffield Wednesday's hopes of signing Lloyd Dyer from Leicester have hit a hitch as the winger insists he does not want to leave the Foxes.

The Owls had been strongly linked with a move for the Birmingham-born man but Dyer wants to stay and fight for a place at the King Power Stadium, despite only starting 18 league games last season for Sven Goran-Eriksson's side.

Dyer told the Leicester Mercury: "I don't want to go anywhere. This is my club. I can't see why I would go anywhere else, especially when there are exciting times ahead."


 

He added: "I have had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday and I wouldn't entertain that either. No-one has approached me."

Wednesday may be forced to pursue other targets to fill the left-wing position.
