No stopping Red hot Liverpool ace

Liverpool's Luis Suarez continued his fine form of last season by firing Uruguay to the final of the Copa America last night, as Oscar Tabarez's side triumphed 2-0 over Peru.

The 24-year-old bagged a brace in La Plata during five second half minutes, as Uruguay comfortably dispatched of the surprise semi-finalists, who ended the game with ten men.

It was a moment to savour for Suarez, who will now have the opportunity to help Uruguay to their first Copa America crown since 1995.

"It's really nice," said Suarez after the win. "Now we have to enjoy, celebrate and focus on the objective, which is the final.

"I think we knew Argentina were going to attack us (in the last round). But today, we had to come out, play and attack."




 

The former Ajax hot shot also attracted praise from his manager, with Tabarez confirming what is becoming more evident with each passing game - Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world.

Tabarez said: "He (Suarez) is an elite player in world football."

The final will take place in Buenos Aires' Estadio Monumental on Sunday, with Uruguay set to face either Paraguay or Venezuela.
