West Ham are in talks with Jack Collison over a new contract.

The Wales midfielder, 22, has two years left to run on his current deal but the Hammers are keen to ward off potential interest from elsewhere as they bid for promotion back to the Premier League.

And Collison's agent John Mac told skysports.com: "Talks over Jack's contract are ongoing and we are hoping we will have a successful resolution soon."

He added: "Jack is enjoying pre-season and he has been impressed with what Sam Allardyce has planned at West Ham.

"He has also been impressed by the signings of Kevin Nolan and Matt Taylor and he is looking forward to the start of the season."
