Richards seals Shrews switch

Shrewsbury have signed midfielder Matt Richards on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old has been training with the Shrews and played in a 2-0 win over Wolves last Friday.

Richards began his career at Ipswich, making nearly 140 appearances, before loan spells at Brighton preceded a move to Walsall.

Town manager Graham Turner said: "It's good news for us that Matt has agreed to join on a two-year deal.

"He's got a lot of experience at a higher level with Ipswich, Brighton and Walsall but is still only 26 years of age.

"It is another good option in the midfield and we all look forward to working with Matt."
