Burton have signed former Crewe left-back Danny Blanchett on a one-year deal.
The 24-year-old was released by Alex at the end of last season after making 44 appearances during the 2010/11 campaign.
Blanchett played against Burton in a pre-season friendly while on trial at Derby this summer.
The defender has been snapped up by Albion boss Paul Peschisolido after he was not offered a deal by the Rams.
He impressed during a pre-season run-out against Solihull.
Blanchett has also played for Peterborough, Stevenage and Hereford.
