Rochdale have completed the signing of goalkeeper Jake Kean from Blackburn on a season-long loan, subject to the completion of paperwork.
Kean, 20, made 25 appearances for Hartlepool last season during a four-month loan spell and travelled with Blackburn to Hong Kong as part of their pre-season preparations.
Dale manager Steve Eyre, who replaced former boss Keith Hill in June, said: "We've been after Jake from the moment Frankie and I were appointed and we're really pleased he's with us."
He added: "He's a big lad with immense potential and a very good prospect for the future.
"I'd like to thank Bobby Mimms in particular and Blackburn Rovers for allowing him to come to us because we were among a few clubs wanting him.
"We had to show some patience because we knew he was going on a tour of Asia with Blackburn's first team and that did allow us to have a look at other keepers."
