Doncaster have announced the signing of teenager defender Oscar Radford, subject to international clearance, following a successful trial with Sean O'Driscoll's side.

The versatile 18-year old had been on trial throughout the summer with Rovers and has now penned a five-month contract.

Born in Rotherham, Radford started his career in Sheffield United's youth system before transferring to the Blades' Hungarian feeder club Ferencvaros at the age of 16.

He told Rovers Player: "I'm glad to be here. When I came back from Hungary, I rang Richard O'Kelly [assistant manager] to see if it was possible to get a week's trial because I see Rovers as a big club.

"I signed for them [Ferencvaros] for two years as a 16-year-old and matured a lot over there. When the opportunity came to sign here, though, I couldn't let it slip.

"For the first week I was a bit shy but I've got to know the lads and want to work hard and develop. I can play centre-back or left-back and bring aggression and work-rate."
