Blackpool tame Tigers in opener

Gary Taylor-Fletcher, who scored Blackpool's first Premier League goal on the first day of last season, gave them a winning return to the npower Championship at Hull.

Taylor-Fletcher, whose goal away to Wigan a year ago set the Seasiders on their way to a stunning 4-0 win, lashed home a glorious angled effort nine minutes from time to settle an open game.

Hull's Tom Cairney and veteran striker Kevin Phillips on his Blackpool debut both shot against the post in the first half, while the hosts were made to pay for a succession of missed chances after the break.
