Brazilian starlet Neymar is on Manchester City’s radar, with the club considering making a big-money bid for the Chelsea target before the transfer window closes, according to Metro.

Neymar drew the attention of numerous big European clubs after some stunning displays for the Brazilian side this year. The 19-year-old currently plays for Santos, and has been touted as the next Pele.

When Neymar admitted earlier this year that it would be a dream come true to play for Chelsea, rumours went into overdrive connecting the forward to the London club.

But Real Madrid also came into the mix, and both clubs have reportedly had bids in excess of £30 million turned down for Neymar’s signature.

And while Chelsea appeared to be the only English club chasing Neymar, Manchester City are said to have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action, and were very impressed by what they saw.

Roberto Mancini is now reportedly going ask the Manchester City board to make signing Neymar a priority, in news that will no doubt come as a blow to Chelsea.

If City do sign Neymar, the deal will no doubt be close to their record £38 million agreement with newcomer Sergio Aguero.
