Macclesfield and Bristol Rovers produced a goalless draw despite no lack of chances at either end.

As early as the second minute Town's Emile Sinclair lifted a 15-yard drive over the bar, and twice in 60 secondsthe winger raced past the Rovers defence but could not find a finish.

Rovers' best chances came midway through the first half, Matt Harrold blasting a 20-yard drive inches wide before Scott McGleish mishit a Craig Stanley cross at the far post with the goal begging.

The Cheshire team dominated after the break, Ross Draper thundering a 15-yard volley over the bar before forcing a diving stop from the impressive Scott Bevan with a 35-yard drive.

Carl Tremarco was the next to try his luck, Bevan again finger-tipping his 35-yard drive wide.

Draper again went close in the 62nd minute but in the dying stages the teams cancelled each other out.
