Craig Bellamy has decided he would prefer a move to Liverpool over Celtic, the BBC claims, as a deal with the Merseyside club nears completion.
Bellamy has been on loan at Cardiff City for the last season, but the striker says he wants to make a move to the Barclays Premier League.
Celtic were said to be interested in bringing Bellamy back to the club, after he spent a loan spell at the Scottish outfit in 2005, but Liverpool are reportedly front runners in the chase for the 32-year-old.
Kenny Dalglish sees Bellamy as the perfect back up for Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, and with the star set to exit City this summer, both Celtic and Liverpool have made their interest in Bellamy’s signature clear.
But Liverpool have more of an intent to challenge for trophies than Celtic, Bellamy feels, with the Reds aiming for Champions League trophies and to be a force throughout Europe as well as in England.
