Ally McCoist picked up his first home win as manager as Rangers saw off Aberdeen 2-0 at Ibrox to remain top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

Steven Davis and Steven Naismith provided the goals as the Scottish champions bounced back from their midweek European disappointment.

However, the result left the Dons waiting a while longer to end their 20-year wait for a victory in Govan.
