Bristol City manager Keith Millen is looking to strengthen his defensive options before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

With Steven Caulker having left the club at the end of last season following a loan deal and Liam Fontaine and Jamie McAllister both suffering from injury, the lack of competition in defensive areas is a major concern for the Robins boss.

Millen told the Bristol Evening Post: "I need to bring players in, because we are short defensively."

He added: "With Fontaine still missing and McAllister injured, we simply do not have the cover we need."

"There are a couple of options we are looking at and I'm hoping we can get something done before Wednesday.

"We are now looking to bring one or two in on loan."
