Sheffield Wednesday have added to their squad with the addition of defender David Kasnik on loan.

The versatile 24-year-old centre back, who can also play left back, has joined the Owls on a minimum six-month deal with a view to a potential extension, according to Olimpija Ljubljana sporting director Milenko Acimovic.

"Kasnik got a very good offer from Sheffield Wednesday," Acimovic told the Slovenian club's official website.

"Even the player himself wanted to move to England, where he will stay for at least six months."

Elsewhere at Hillsborough, Gary Megson has revealed he's to shuffle the Wednesday pack for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash against Bradford City.

Gary Madine struck twice for the Owls in their 3-2 weekend victory over Scunthorpe United in Npower League One, but is likely to be one of a handful of players rested for the Yorkshire derby.

"We have had to chop and change a little bit because of cup ties but that's nobody's fault, that's my decision to do so," Megson told the official Wednesday website.

"I will pick a side which I think is right for Wednesday, which is what I always do."

Under the rules of the JPT Trophy, the former West Brom boss must field at least six of the side that beat the Iron - or six regular first team players - in the match that's live on Sky Sports.
