McGivern joins Robins

Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern is joining Bristol City after his loan at Crystal Palace came to an end.

Eagles boss Dougie Freedman wanted to keep the 21-year-old Northern Ireland full-back after an impressive month-long spell at Selhurst Park.

But Ashton Gate boss Keith Millen has instead landed McGivern on a season-long deal, subject to a medical and Football League clearance.
