Reading boss Brian McDermott has hit out at Leicester for their pursuit of Jimmy Kebe, despite the Mali international opting to remain at the Madejski Stadium.

Reports started to emerge on deadline-day that the Foxes were primed to make a bid for the winger, but McDermott accused their Championship rivals of deliberately trying to unsettle the player.

He told the Reading Chronicle: "I might put something on Sky Sports saying we're trying to buy three or four of Leicester's players. Other clubs do, it's very easy to do that sort of thing. If that's what you are into then fine, but we choose to do things differently at Reading."

"Whatever Leicester do is up to them. To be honest, I'm not really bothered how Leicester conduct their business.

"But if we wanted to do that sort of thing there is nothing stopping us either.

"I think they were linked with about 10 players on Wednesday alone. It was ridiculous."
