Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has vowed to continue his fantastic start to the season and fire the club towards the top of the table.

The Uruguayan striker has scored three goals in all competitions thus far in the campaign, but it's his all-round play which has drawn man-of-the-match praise both home and away.

With fears that the forward could suffer from both burnout following the Copa America and the dreaded 'second-season syndrome' in the Barclays Premier League, the pressure is on Suarez to continue delivering the goods. He's more than confident in his own ability though, and is under no doubt he can continue to bamboozle defenders.

"I feel no pressure at all. In fact when a defender studies you, it almost makes it easier because you just don't do what he expects you to," said the 24-year-old January signing.

"If he thinks you are going to go to your right, you go to your left and so on, and you just keep switching it round so you are hard to read.

"It keeps you on your toes but really it's harder for the defender because he can't know what you are going to do."

Questioned on his own personal targets, the former Ajax hitman was quick to turn attention back to the targets of Liverpool rather than himself.

Instead, the striker talked about qualifying for the Champions League and trying to win a trophy at Anfield this term, ambitions the club's faithful will undoubtedly share with the player.

"I don't set a goals target and I never really have personal goals, just collective goals for the team. That is far more important than what I do myself. It is about team targets," the forward continued.

"We want to get Liverpool back into the Champions League and maybe win a cup. But we also want to get as high as we can in the league. It might be a little bit early but if there's a chance to win the league, we will go for it."
