Lowe starts season on a high

Sheffield Wednesday striker Ryan Lowe has bagged the npower League One player of the month award for August.

The former Bury star, who made his debut for the Owls in the 1-1 draw with Charlton on Monday night, netted seven times for his former club before making the move to Hillsborough.

Lowe beat off competition from Steven Quinn of Sheffield United, MK Dons' Luke Chadwick and Graham Alexander of Preston to land the prize.
