Notts County manager Martin Allen was full of praise for his team after they overcame Walsall 2-1 less than 48 hours after drawing against Juventus in Turin.
Goals from Lee Hughes, who also scored in Italy, and Cristian Montano helped County to an important win and Allen felt his boys had shown great spirit to get a victory against Walsall so soon after the trip to Italy.
He said: "To get a win after being in Turin on Thursday night is terrific. I think the game started about 11 at night."
He added: "Then they all went out and played against players like that and they didn't get to bed until two o'clock in the morning, and they were up again at six in the morning to fly back.
"I haven't got Champions League players so they are not used to that, so for them to put in a performance like that with the fatigue and the mental energy and drain of playing against Juventus is superb."
Walsall boss Dean Smith was disappointed how his team handled the dangerous Hughes and the manner in which they lost the game.
He said: "It was disappointing as I don't think we handled Lee Hughes well all afternoon. He's played at the top level and you could see why with his finish in the first half.
"I thought in the second half we got on the front foot again and got the goal but our naivety cost us.
"We had a throw in the corner and players went up but we didn't have a long throw as Richard Taundry has a bad shoulder and they've broken away and scored.
"I'm disappointed we've been so naive."
