Charlie Adam believes he has had a good start to the season after signing for Liverpool in the summer, but the 25-year-old insists there is still more to come as the Reds aim for a top fours spot.

After four matches, Liverpool currently sit fifth on the Barclays Premier League table, and have collected seven points so far.

And while Adam has been a key member in Dalglish’s plans for the squad line-up, the midfielder wants to keep improving and showing the manager what he’s made of.

"I'm happy with my form so far but obviously you want to do better," Adam told the official Liverpool website.

"The manager makes that decision on whether he thinks you are doing well and deserve to stay in the team. He gives you the confidence when it's needed and a rollicking when it's not.”

Results have been mixed for Liverpool so far this season, and Adam admitted that he believes the Anfield club can do better.

"I'm happy so far but I think the results maybe could have been a wee bit better in terms of a couple more points but we have had a good start,” he said.

"We had a disappointing result at Stoke but overall I think we have done okay and can get better."

Liverpool face Tottenham tomorrow, in a must win clash for both sides as they make their intentions clear to challenge for a spot in the Champions League next season.
