Ryan rescues Iron point: Match Review

A dramatic goal by substitute Jimmy Ryan in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time earned Scunthorpe a 2-2 draw at Walsall.

Ryan hammered in a low shot after collecting a pass from the outstanding Mark Duffy as the Saddlers desperately tried to hang on.

It was no more than Alan Knill`s side deserved after dominating the match from start to finish but the Iron are still looking for their first win after nine league games - their worst start in 37 years.

Walsall took the lead after 22 minutes when Adam Chambers headed in a free-kick from Richard Taundry, although it was against the run of p

Scunthorpe equalised in the 78th minute when another substitute, Garry Thompson, knocked the ball in from close range following a corner.

Then, with seven minutes left, Walsall substitute Will Grigg thought he had won the game with a stunning far-post volley from Taundry's cross but Scunthorpe had other ideas and Ryan saved them in the 94th minute.
