Coventry's Carl Baker is looking at around four to five weeks on the sidelines after scan results highlighted ruptured ankle ligaments.

The Sky Blues midfielder has finally received a diagnosis on the extent on the injury sustained in last Monday's 3-0 defeat at Ipswich, which subsequently ruled him out of Saturday's 1-1 draw against Reading.

Baker will not need an operation, however, which provides a glimmer of hope towards a speedier recovery.

The Liverpudlian's lengthy spell on the sidelines will further stretch the limits of manager Andy Thorn's lightweight squad, although City have recently been boosted by the return of midfielder Gary Deegan from long-term injury.
