McCormack wants Leeds improvements

Leeds striker Ross McCormack is frustrated at the position the Whites find themselves after eight npower Championship outings, believing each element of the team needs to improve.

The Yorkshire outfit have won three and drawn two of their league matches so far to collect 11 points - two points off a play-off place at present. But McCormack insists Leeds should be aiming for more, and that - from front to back - they must start hitting higher standards.

"I'd say our league position is disappointing but overall it's probably what we deserve. If we can improve (our defending), we've got a chance," he told the Yorkshire Post.

"We're scoring two or three goals in games at times and have got to keep that going.

"I think last season we were the top scorers - if not certainly near the top. We were right up there.

"This season we'll do it again. It's just the basics we're not doing right."
