Ashley Young capped his UEFA Champions League debut with a stoppage time goal to salvage a 3-3 draw for Manchester United against FC Basel at Old Trafford.

Danny Welbeck put Sir Alex Ferguson's side in charge with two goals in as many first-half minutes from a pair of Ryan Giggs passes.

Fabian Frei crashed a rebound in off a post before Alexander Frei headed in from the formers far-post cross to draw the Swiss outfit level.

Basel were then handed a penalty with 15 minutes left when Antonio Valencia brought down Marco Streller in the box, leaving Alexander Frei to double his tally and complete a stunning turnaround.

In the final minutes, Dimitar Berbatov was summoned from the bench before fellow substitute Nani created the last-gasp equaliser, crossing from the right to leave Young free to nod into the far-post bottom corner.
