Emotional Forest return blocked

Nigel Clough's move to Nottingham Forest is a non-starter due to the Derby County boss not having the sufficient coaching badges required, according to the Daily Mirror.

Clough currently has a B license, but despite being the current manager of The Rams, the rule inforced in the summer, rules out any appointment of a manager without the A or Pro licence.

Clough, a former Forest player, was also the son legendary manager Brian Clough, a two-time European Cup winner while at the City Ground.

 

The problems means Forest's search for a manager continues, with Mark Robins and Roy Keane being joined by Steve Cotterill in the running.

Cotterill has endured a difficult time at the helm at Portsmouth, and despite the problems endured by Steve McClaren, would welcome the extra freedom in the transfer market at Forest.
