Spurs target Barcelona duo - reports

Tottenham want Barcelona youngsters Martin Montoya and Marc Bartra

Tottenham have reportedly identified Barcelona duo Martin Montoya and Marc Bartra as potential January acquisitions.

According to talkSPORT, the young duo are being pursued by the north Londoners as they fail to both hit a stumbling block with with Barca regarding a new contracts.

Should they not renew their respective deals, it is claimed they could be free to leave the Nou Camp in January, and Spurs are said to be waiting in the wings.

Both 20-year-old defenders, Montoya and Bartra have made only five first-team appearances for Barca between them and are being tracked by numerous clubs.

Barca are still keen to keep Montoya and Bartra in Catalonia, but Spurs are likely to offer more lucrative deals to the Spanish pair.




 

Harry Redknapp is said to be keen to further reinforce his defence in January, having missed out on bringing Gary Cahill to White Hart Lane in the summer.

Montoya and Bartra could certainly do just that, although lack the Barclays Premier League experience other possible signings could bring to Spurs.
