Newcastle have continued their unbeaten run in the Barclays Premier League at the expense of Wigan, with the Toon taking a 1-0 vctory at St James’ Park today.

Summer signing Yohan Cabaye scored the only goal in the match, with the Frenchmen scoring from 20 yards in the 81st minute.

Demba Ba and Leon Best came close, while Wigan looked to have the upper hand at times, with Victor Moses and Hugo Rodallega missing chances to take the Latics up.

Newcastle are now level on points with Chelsea, and safe in fourth place on the Barclays Premier League table by five points over fifth-placed Liverpool.

Wigan, meanwhile, have undergone their sixth successive defeat, and are last in the table.
