Napoli are considering organising a swap deal for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, Metro claims, with the Italian side offering Manchester United target Ezeqiel Lavezzi as part of the move.

Lavezzi has starred for Napoli since the 26-year-old signed to the club in 2007, and after scoring 39 goals in 133 appearances, has attracted attention from numerous European clubs.

Sir Alex Ferguson has long been an admirer of Lavezzi, and with United losing to City 6-1 just over a week ago, Ferguson is keen to bolster the squad with some older and more experienced players as United aim to challenge for the title and Champions League trophy.

But City are planning on stealing the march on their cross-town rivals, and offer Carlos Tevez to Napoli in exchange for Lavezzi.

While the Serie A side were hoping to land Mario Balotelli, they are very happy to take Tevez on board as City insist they’re holding on to their young star striker.

The news will no doubt come as a blow to United, who were reportedly considering a January bid for Lavezzi.
