West Brom have indicated that they will attempt to sign Birmingham goalkeeper Ben Foster on a permanent basis if the two clubs are not in the same division next season.

Foster is currently on a season-long loan at the Hawthorns, with Boaz Myhill making a similar move in the opposite direction.

Under the terms of the deal, Foster will not be subject to a bid from the Baggies should Blues gain promotion but Dan Ashworth, the Baggies' sporting and technical director, intends to snap up the former England keeper if Chris Hughton's men remain in the npower Championship.
